Blood Pressure Supplement Powder or Capsule: Scoop, Taste, Sugar and Dose
A blood pressure supplement powder is the same kind of product as a capsule in a different form, so the form does not change the evidence. What changes is dose per serving, taste, sweeteners and mixing. Melonex is capsules only: 1 capsule holds a 500 mg blend, and the label allows up to 2 a day.

Is a blood pressure supplement powder different from a capsule?
Not in kind. Powder and capsule are two ways to deliver the same ingredients, and the FDA treats both as dietary supplements (FDA, Dietary Supplements).
Neither form is approved by the FDA before sale (FDA, Q&A on Dietary Supplements). Neither has been shown to work like a blood pressure medicine (NCCIH, Hypertension).
The form matters for practical reasons. A powder can carry a larger dose per serving. A capsule is simpler to carry and to measure.
What should you check on a powder label before mixing it?
Check four things: the scoop size, the amounts per scoop, the sweeteners and the other ingredients. A powder can hide a blend just as a capsule can.
- Scoop size. The label should print grams per scoop and scoops per day.
- Amounts. Look for a mg figure beside every ingredient, not one blend total (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement Facts).
- Sugar and sweeteners. Powders are often flavored. If you track sugar or sodium, read both lines.
- Mixing notes. Some powders need a full glass and stirring. Heat or long storage may be warned against.
We found no source that ranks powders against capsules for blood pressure. Taste and mixing are matters of preference, not evidence.
How do a scoop and a Melonex capsule compare on dose?
A scoop usually holds more, and a Melonex capsule holds a 500 mg blend. That gap is the main practical difference.
Melonex capsules list one line, "Proprietary Blend 500 mg", with three names. By label order, the first, L-citrulline DL-malate, is at least 167 mg. The second, L-arginine AKG, is at most 250 mg. The third, L-arginine HCl, is at most 167 mg.
Studies of citrulline use 3 to 8 g a day (Cleveland Clinic, L-citrulline). A powder built to reach grams would need a scoop of several grams. A capsule at 500 mg cannot, even at the label limit of two.

- L-Arginine alpha-ketoglutarateup to 250 mg
- L-Arginine HClup to 167 mg
Bars show the widest range the label order allows for each name (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement Facts). The real split is not printed.

See packsWhich form is safer to start with, powder or capsule?
Neither is safer by form. Safety depends on the ingredients, the dose and your medicines.
Arginine can add to blood pressure medicines, and Mayo Clinic advises against it after a recent heart attack (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine). Those cautions apply to powder and capsule alike. Ask your doctor or pharmacist, and keep taking prescribed medicine exactly as directed.
A smaller fixed capsule makes a dose easy to count. The pack prices below are for the capsule bottle, 60 capsules each.

FAQ01
Melonex questions people ask
Is Melonex a powder?
No. Melonex is a dietary supplement in capsules: a 60-capsule white bottle. The label directs one capsule daily with an 8 oz glass of water and allows up to two. There is no powder, gummy or liquid version.
Do powders work faster than capsules for blood pressure?
We found no source showing that. Blood pressure has no symptoms, so only a cuff reading can show a change. Form may change how quickly something is swallowed, but no source shows a faster effect on pressure.
Can I mix a blood pressure supplement powder into hot drinks?
Follow the label. Some ingredients may not suit heat, and we found no source for Melonex on this, as it is a capsule. Ask the seller of any powder what temperature its label allows.
