Page content follows the bottle label, which wins over any sales copy. The wording above is Serving size 1 capsule, 60 servings per container: Proprietary Blend 500 mg (L-Citrulline DL-Malate, L-Arginine (Alpha-Ketoglutarate dihydrate), L-Arginine HCL). Daily Value not established. The amount of each of the three is not printed.
Read it closely02
How do you read the Melonex label?
Read the Melonex label from the top: serving size, servings per container, then the blend line, then the three names under it.
The numbered spots below point at each part. Tap a spot to see what it means and what it leaves out.
Tap a number to see that part of the label.

- Three names

The dagger note: Daily Value not established.
Dosage03
What dosage does the Melonex label give?
The Melonex dosage on the label is one capsule a day with an 8 oz glass of water. The label adds that you may take up to two capsules a day.
The exact words are: "As a dietary supplement, take one (1) capsule daily with an 8 oz. glass of water. May take up to two (2) capsules daily." No time of day and no food rule is printed.
One capsule holds a 500 mg blend. Two capsules hold 1,000 mg of blend, or 1 g. The label caution says: Do not exceed recommended dose. Pregnant or nursing mothers, children under the age of 18 and individuals with a known medical condition should consult a physician before using this or any dietary supplement. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use if safety seal is damaged or missing.
The number of capsules is clear. The number of milligrams of each name is not, so a dosage in grams of citrulline or arginine cannot be worked out from the bottle.
What is not printed04
What does the Melonex label leave out?
The Melonex label leaves out the amount of each of its three names, any allergen statement, and the name of the manufacturer.
US rules let a company print a blend as one total and list the members in descending order by weight. Individual amounts inside a blend need not be shown (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement Facts). So the missing amounts are allowed. They are still missing.
| Item | What the label shows |
|---|---|
| Serving size | 1 capsule |
| Servings per container | 60 |
| Blend total | 500 mg |
| Citrulline amount | Not published |
| Arginine AKG amount | Not published |
| Arginine HCl amount | Not published |
| Allergen statement | Not printed |
| Manufacturer | Not named; distributor is Instituto Experience, Lakeland, FL |
Because no allergen line is printed, this site does not call the capsule allergen-free.
The arithmetic05
How much of each name is in a Melonex capsule?
Nobody outside the company can say how much of each name is in a Melonex capsule, but the label order sets limits you can work out yourself.
The blend is 500 mg and names must be listed from heaviest to lightest (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement Facts). With three names, the first weighs at least a third of 500 mg, which is 167 mg, and under 500. The second can be at most 250 mg, because it is no heavier than the first. The third can be at most 167 mg.
These are weights of salt forms. The malate, alpha-ketoglutarate and hydrochloride parts add weight, so the citrulline or arginine itself is less.

- L-Arginine alpha-ketoglutarateup to 250 mg
- L-Arginine HClup to 167 mg
Bars show the widest range the label order allows for each name (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement Facts). The real split is not printed.
Studies of these amino acids use grams a day. Cleveland Clinic summarizes citrulline studies at 3 to 8 g a day (Cleveland Clinic, L-citrulline). One whole Melonex blend is 0.5 g. See the proprietary blend page for the full comparison.

What else is printed on the Melonex bottle?
The bottle also prints the other ingredients, a caution block, a storage line, an origin line and the distributor.
- Other ingredients: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (capsule), microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate.
- Storage: Keep away from heat, light, and humidity to preserve freshness. Store in a cool, dry place.
- Origin: Made in the USA with globally sourced ingredients. The label also says it was made in an FDA registered facility.
- Distributor: Instituto Experience, Lakeland, FL 33804, +1 (507) 448-8190, [email protected]
A facility registration is not an approval of the product. The FDA does not approve supplements before they are sold (FDA, Q&A on Dietary Supplements).
Starred front lines such as "Heart Support*" and "Circulation Support*" lead to the FDA statement: These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. They describe the product. They do not report a result.
Before you start07
Is it safe to take Melonex with other medicines?
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before you take Melonex if you use any prescription medicine, because arginine can add to blood-pressure medicines.
Mayo Clinic, MSK and Cleveland Clinic all advise against arginine after a recent heart attack (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine) (MSK, Arginine) (Cleveland Clinic, L-arginine). Never stop or change a prescribed medicine because of a supplement (AHA, Managing BP Medications).
Chest pain, trouble breathing, fainting, or face, arm or speech changes need 911, not a capsule (AHA, Warning Signs of a Heart Attack) (CDC, Signs and Symptoms of Stroke).

Where can you check the Melonex label yourself?
Check the label on the bottle in your hand, and compare it with the typed copy here before you rely on either.
Buying from third-party listings adds risk. We know of no Amazon, Walmart, eBay or store listing for Melonex, and a copy bought elsewhere may not be genuine or covered by the guarantee (Consumer Reports, Counterfeits Online). Read the where to buy page and the batch check page.

Melonex supplement facts questions
How many capsules are in a Melonex bottle?
A Melonex bottle holds 60 capsules, and the label sets one serving at one capsule, so a bottle has 60 servings. At one capsule a day it lasts 60 days. At the label limit of two capsules a day it lasts 30 days.
What is the serving size of Melonex?
The serving size of Melonex is 1 capsule. The label lists 60 servings per container. The directions say to take one capsule daily with an 8 oz glass of water, and that you may take up to two capsules a day.
Does the Melonex label list the amount of each ingredient?
No. The Supplement Facts panel lists one Proprietary Blend of 500 mg and names three ingredients under it. It prints no amount for any of them. Federal rules allow this, because individual amounts inside a blend need not be shown.
What are the other ingredients in Melonex capsules?
The label lists hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, which forms the capsule, plus microcrystalline cellulose and magnesium stearate. No allergen statement is printed, so this site does not describe the capsule as allergen-free.
Is the Melonex Daily Value listed?
No. The panel says Daily Value not established beside the blend line. That is common for amino acid forms. It means no percentage can be shown, so you cannot judge the amount against a recommended intake.
