Is a Durable Blood Pressure Supplement a Real Thing? Decoding the Word
A durable blood pressure supplement is a marketing phrase with no legal or medical definition. No rule says what durable means on a supplement label, and no source we found measures it. Ask for facts instead: printed amounts, a study dose, outside testing and a stated way to check your own cuff readings.

What does durable mean on a blood pressure supplement?
On a supplement, durable means whatever the seller wants it to mean. It is not a defined label term.
The FDA lets makers use structure and function wording. It must be truthful, backed by evidence, and may not claim to treat a disease (FDA, Structure/Function Claims). "Durable" fits none of those boxes.
The FTC says health benefit claims generally need randomized, controlled human testing (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance). A vague word where a trial should be is a gap.
Which marketing words should you translate before buying?
Translate each word into a question you can check.
| Word | What to ask instead |
|---|---|
| Durable | How long was it tested in people, and where is the paper? |
| Advanced | Advanced compared with what, and by what measure? |
| Natural | Natural does not always mean safe (NIH ODS, Supplements: What You Need to Know) |
| Clinical strength | Which trial, which dose, which product? |
The Melonex front says "Advanced Support" and "Natural Formula*". Those describe the product. They are not results.
What can you check on the Melonex label instead of a word?
Check three printed lines: the serving, the blend total and the directions. All three can be read on the bottle.
The serving is one capsule, 60 to a bottle. The only ingredient line is "Proprietary Blend 500 mg". The directions say one capsule daily with 8 oz of water, up to two.
Tap a number to see that part of the label.
- Suggested use
One capsule daily, taken with an 8 oz glass of water. The label adds: 'May take up to two (2) capsules daily.'
- Storage
Keep away from heat, light and humidity to preserve freshness.
- Caution
Do not exceed the dose. Pregnant or nursing mothers, children under 18 and anyone with a medical condition: ask a physician first.
- Seal and children
Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use if the safety seal is damaged or missing. Store in a cool, dry place.

- Serving

- One blend, 500 mg
Proprietary Blend 500 mg, listing L-Citrulline DL-Malate, L-Arginine (Alpha-Ketoglutarate dihydrate) and L-Arginine HCL. No amount is printed for any of the three. No daily value is set.
- Other ingredients
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (capsule), microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate. No allergen line is printed.
- FDA statement
Not evaluated by the FDA; not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
- FDA registered facility
'This product has been manufactured in an FDA registered facility.' The facility is not named.
The three amounts are not printed. By label order the first name is at least 167 mg and the others cap at 250 and 167 mg (see the 500 mg blend). No lab report is published.

See packsDoes any supplement give a durable effect on blood pressure?
No supplement has been shown to give a lasting effect like a blood pressure medicine (NCCIH, Hypertension). Lasting control is mostly about habits and, for many people, prescribed medicine.
- Mayo Clinic estimates diet changes can lower systolic pressure by up to 11 mm Hg and exercise by about 5 to 8 (Mayo Clinic, 10 Ways to Lower BP).
- Keep taking prescribed medicine, and ask your pharmacist before adding a capsule.

FAQ01
Melonex questions people ask
Is durable a regulated term for supplements?
No. The FDA has no definition of durable for dietary supplements. It is sales language. A regulated claim has to be truthful and backed by evidence, and a vague word like this gives you nothing to test.
Is Melonex a durable supplement?
The label does not use that word, and we found no trial of the capsules. The label says Heart Support*, Circulation Support* and Natural Formula*. Those describe the product. They do not report any lasting result.
