What is inside a Melonex capsule?
Each capsule holds a 500 mg blend of three named amino acid forms, packed with a few helper ingredients.
The blend names are L-citrulline DL-malate, L-arginine alpha-ketoglutarate and L-arginine HCl. The other ingredients are hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (the capsule shell), microcrystalline cellulose and magnesium stearate. No allergen statement is printed, so we do not call it allergen-free.

How do you swallow Melonex capsules comfortably?
Swallow one whole capsule with a full 8 oz glass of water, as the label directs.
Sit or stand upright. Take a sip of water first to wet your throat. Place the capsule on your tongue, then drink the rest of the glass. Do not tilt your head far back.
The label gives no direction to open or crush a capsule, so we do not suggest it. If swallowing capsules is hard for you, ask your pharmacist. Citrulline can cause bloating, cramping or diarrhea in some people (Cleveland Clinic, L-citrulline).
When in the day can you take a capsule?
The label sets no time of day and no food rule. It says one capsule daily with water.
Pick a time you can repeat, and keep your usual blood pressure checks around it. The dial below shows one possible day. It is a sample, not a medical schedule.
- About 7:00, with breakfast time
As the label says, one capsule with an 8 oz glass of water. Prescribed medicine keeps its own schedule; never cut back or quit on your own (AHA).
- Morning and evening: a reading
Home monitoring: an automatic, validated upper-arm cuff, five minutes of rest, two readings a minute apart at the same time each day, and a log (AHA).
- A walk after a meal
Adults are advised 2.5 hours of moderate activity a week, or 75 minutes of vigorous activity (AHA Life's Essential 8).
- Dinner and night: sodium and sleep
AHA suggests no more than 2,300 mg of sodium a day, ideally 1,500, and most adults need 7 to 9 hours of sleep.
Points from AHA (AHA, Home Blood Pressure Monitoring), (AHA, Managing BP Medications), (AHA, Life's Essential 8) and (AHA, How Much Sodium Per Day). The time for the capsule is a suggestion; follow your label.
