What Does Melonex Heart Health Support Really Mean?
Melonex heart health wording is a structure and function style claim: it describes support, not treatment. The label says "Heart Support*" and the FDA has not evaluated it. No study has tested Melonex. Studies of its ingredient names alone used grams a day, while the whole blend is 500 mg.

What can a supplement label legally say about the heart?
It can describe a role for an ingredient in the body, if the claim is truthful and backed by evidence. It cannot claim to diagnose, treat or prevent a disease (FDA, Structure/Function Claims).
Such a claim must carry a notice that the FDA has not evaluated it. The FDA does not approve supplements before they are sold (NIH ODS, Supplements: What You Need to Know). The FTC expects health benefit claims to rest on strong evidence, generally human clinical testing (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance).
The Melonex label has the star and the notice. The sales page adds "targeted nutritional support for heart health, healthy blood pressure, and overall cardiovascular wellness" and cites no studies (Melonex sales page).
What do studies on the ingredients show?
They show small and mixed changes in blood pressure at grams a day, in studies of single ingredients. They say nothing direct about Melonex.
| Ingredient studied | What the source reports |
|---|---|
| L-arginine alone | Pooled 22 trials: systolic -6.40, diastolic -2.64 mm Hg (Shiraseb 2022, arginine and BP) |
| L-citrulline | Mixed: systolic -4.10 in one analysis, no change in another (Barkhidarian 2019, citrulline and BP) (Mirenayat 2018, citrulline and BP) |
| Arginine alpha-ketoglutarate | Little human evidence (Devulapalli 2026, AKG review) |
NCCIH says no dietary supplement has been shown to have effects comparable to drugs used to treat hypertension (NCCIH, Hypertension).
Does 500 mg in one capsule match those study amounts?
No. The studies used several grams a day, and one Melonex capsule holds a 500 mg blend of three names.
By label order, the first name is at least 167 mg, the second is at most 250 mg and the third is at most 167 mg. These are salt-form weights, so the actual citrulline or arginine is less. The label prints no split.
Two capsules, the label limit, hold at most 1,000 mg of blend. Study amounts run in the thousands of milligrams for a single name. See the 500 mg blend and claims versus evidence pages.

People on heart or blood pressure medicine, and anyone who has had a heart attack, need to ask a doctor or pharmacist first.
Mayo Clinic, MSK and Cleveland Clinic advise against arginine after a recent heart attack (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine) (MSK, Arginine) (Cleveland Clinic, L-arginine). A capsule is not a substitute for medicine, so keep taking what you are prescribed (AHA, Managing BP Medications).

FAQ01
Melonex questions people ask
Is Melonex approved by the FDA for heart health?
No. The FDA does not approve dietary supplements before sale, and the label notice says the FDA has not evaluated the statements. Melonex is not a medicine and is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Why is there an asterisk after Heart Support?
The star points to the standard notice at the bottom of the label: the statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. It marks the line as a product description, not a finding from a trial.
Can a heart support supplement replace blood pressure medicine?
No. Never cut back or quit a prescribed medicine on your own, even when you feel fine. No pills or vitamins can replace prescription medicine and lifestyle changes, according to the American Heart Association (AHA, Managing BP Medications).
