Picking a Men's Heart Health Supplement by What the Panel Says
A men's heart health supplement is usually the same kind of product as any other, sold in a box aimed at men. The Supplement Facts panel is what counts: serving size, each amount and the cautions. Melonex is not labeled for men. Its panel shows one 500 mg blend with three names and no separate amounts.

Is a men's heart health supplement different from a regular one?
Often only in the packaging. The ingredients can be the same as in a bottle with no gender on the front.
The front of a bottle is marketing. The Supplement Facts panel is the legal part, set by federal rules that fix what must be listed (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement Facts). A product can add the word men to a name without any trial in men.
We found no source in our list showing that men need a different heart supplement. Your doctor can speak to your own case.
Which lines on the label should a man read first?
Read five lines: serving size, servings, each amount, other ingredients and the caution. The rest is design.
| Line | What to ask | Melonex shows |
|---|---|---|
| Serving size | How many pieces for one dose? | 1 capsule |
| Servings | How many days in a bottle? | 60 per container |
| Amounts | Is each one in mg? | Not published for each name |
| Other ingredients | Fillers, capsule shell | Capsule, cellulose, magnesium stearate |
| Caution | Who should ask first? | Under 18, pregnant, nursing, known condition |
A blend total tells you the weight of the whole group, not of any one name inside it (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement Facts).
Should a man take a higher dose than the label says?
No. Do not go over the dose on the label, and do not treat a stronger version as a better one.
Melonex directs one capsule daily with an 8 oz glass of water, and says you may take up to two. Pooled L-arginine trials used grams a day and saw no further change above 9 g (Shiraseb 2022, arginine and BP). A trial of arginine after a heart attack was stopped after 6 of 70 people on arginine died, compared with none on placebo (JAMA 2006, VINTAGE MI trial). Those doses were far above this blend, but it is the reason that group is told to avoid arginine.
Keep taking prescribed medicine. Ask your pharmacist before adding any amino acid (AHA, Managing BP Medications).

See packsHow does the Melonex panel read when you go line by line?
It reads as one blend of 500 mg with three names in a fixed order. The numbered spots below walk through the panel.
Tap a number to see that part of the label.
- Serving
Serving size is 1 capsule; the container holds 60 servings.
- Proprietary Blend 500 mg
The one line of the panel. 500 mg is the combined weight of everything in the blend.
- Three names
L-Citrulline DL-Malate, L-Arginine (Alpha-Ketoglutarate dihydrate), L-Arginine HCL, listed from most to least by weight. No amount for any of them.
- Daily Value
The dagger note: Daily Value not established.
Label order puts L-citrulline DL-malate first at 167 mg or more, arginine AKG second at 250 mg or less and arginine HCl third at 167 mg or less. The Supplement Facts page explains each number.
If the panel suits you and your pharmacist agrees, the 3-bottle pack is $207 and the 6-bottle pack is $294.

FAQ01
Melonex questions people ask
Is Melonex a men's heart health supplement?
No. Nothing on the label says it is for men or for women. The directions are the same for adults: one capsule daily with 8 oz of water, up to two allowed. People under 18 should consult a physician first.
What is a proprietary blend on a supplement label?
It is a group of ingredients listed under one total weight. Federal rules list the names from heaviest to lightest, but the amount of each is not required (21 CFR 101.36, Supplement Facts). Melonex lists three names under one 500 mg total.
Do I need a different supplement as I get older?
Possibly, but supplements do not set that. Ask your doctor, because age can change blood pressure and medicines, and supplements can interact with medicines (NCCIH, Using Supplements Wisely). Blood pressure has no symptoms, so measure it (NHLBI, What Is High Blood Pressure).
